Productivity bonus and its link with the services rendered

José Manuel Nóvoa Falcón
Abstract

Article 23, currently in force, of Law 30/1984, of 2 August 1984, on measures for the reform of the civil service, sets out two types of remuneration, basic and supplementary.Among the supplementary remuneration is the productivity allowance, the purpose of which is to reward the special performance, extraordinary activity and interest or initiative with which the civil servant carries out his or her work. This remuneration component is not always regulated for each ministry or body and sometimes, even when it is, the regulation does not provide for certain circumstances such as the date of accrual of these concepts or the provisions they contain are contrary to the legal system. These last two cases are the subject of this article.
