Standardisation and military approval of materials in Spain

Abstract

The author begins with a brief introduction to civilian standardisation and technical controls, and then moves on to the study of military standardisation of materials and military approval of products.
With this objective in mind, the article analyses, firstly, the different types of military standardisation; secondly, the specific regulations governing the military standardisation of materials; thirdly, the administrative structure of this standardisation technique; and fourthly, the Spanish military standards and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation’s STANAGs relating to materials.
