Automation and Public Administration

Carlos de Román Castro
Abstract

Currently, the so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution is spearheaded by the development and implementation of AI systems and algorithms. This international phenomenon is no stranger to the public sector, where public administrations have found a new way to fulfill their duties more effectively and efficiently. This new step in the evolution of the public structure brings with it new paradigms for both democracy and administrative law. Therefore, this study seeks a non-exhaustive summary of these issues at the national level, as well as their regulatory fit in the current context, characterized by the delay until the full enactment of the RIA in 2027.
