Anti-corruption strategies: The case of Anti-fraud Office of Catalonia

Abstract

In this article you will find the route, throughout its first ten years, of the Anti-Fraud Office of Catalonia. Its creation, functions, strategies, approaches, its main projects and future challenges. Its priority goal is to prevent and investigate possible cases of fraudulent use or allocation of public fundcases that damage the integrity of public institutions and, among other consequences, undermine the trust of citizens in them. With a clear vocation to affect society, the Anti-Fraud Office of Catalonia provides tools to institutions and their public servants to strengthen their integrity systems and contributes to raising public awareness by promoting actions that involve them in this fight. To tackle areas where corruption risks have more incidence we use risk analysis methodology.
