Abstract
This paper addresses the meaning of the Galician Book and Reading Act, enacted in 2006, in the legal framework of Galicia. In the last ten years, the enforcement of this Act has been biased by both political and budgetary causes. More specifically, we take a look over three key points in terms of normative assessment: a) a soft autonomous policy, shaped by the complex framework –both european and domestic– of cultural industries sector; b) the lack of a systematic public policy of law enforcement at the autonomous level; c) the lack of legal means securing public expenditures in culture.
